Langland Bay to Caswell Bay

This is one of my favorite walks. The views here are breathtaking.

Both Langland Bay and Caswell Bay are beautiful locations to spend some time, however on this occasion, I was just spending an hour or so walking along the coastal path between the two bays and back with my dog Bobbi and a friend. Dogs are allowed on the beach during the winter months, but during the summer (May – September) they are only allowed to walk along the prom, and must be kept on a lead at all times.

Langland Bay is a long sweeping bay, lined with green and white beach huts right along the front of the promenade.

The front here is accessible, as it has both a ramp and steps to take you from the car park behind the beach huts, down onto the front. The car park is chargeable and is currently £5 to park all day (correct at time of writing).

There are places to eat, and shops to buy drinks, snacks (ice cream of course!) and some beach essentials like buckets and spades.

It is also a lovely place to explore the rock pools – we’ve been successful at finding crabs each time we’ve been.

As you face the sea, the path here runs to the right, past all the shops, and around the corner out of sight – this is direction I followed to walk to Caswell.

The path is well maintained, as has benches most of the way along, however it isn’t fully accessible to wheelchairs or prams, as once you get so far there are some very steep steps to climb.

The route to Caswell is simple, you just follow the same path around the cliffs, following the sea. It is just over one mile from Langland to Caswell, so a round trip of 2.5miles.

Once you arrive at Caswell, there is another beautiful beach. I used to spend a lot of time here as a child, and I’m so grateful to be able to share this with my children.

There is also a car park at Caswell Bay, if you only wanted to explore here or spend the day at the beach there. The charges are the same as Langland, £5 for all day parking (correct at time of writing).

There are also toilet facilities here, along with a choice of shops for snacks and drinks.

If you go down onto the beach, on the left hand side, not far from the steps, there are some lovely little caves for the little ones to play in – please make sure they are always supervised!

Overall, I would recommend a visit to both bays, for either the walk, or to just sit and enjoy the views from the beach. We are looking forward to returning again during the summer.

Have you visited either bay? Would you recommend it? I would love to hear your thoughts!
